Ivy is a mindfulness based somatic psychotherapist as well as an experienced yoga teacher.  She approaches her work in a collaborative and integrative style. Ivy has a Masters degree in Counseling Psychology from Lewis & Clark College.  She has also completed a specialized certificate in Ecopsychology. This framework speaks to the recognition of the connections between the mental health of the client with the overall health of the culture and the planet. Ecopsychology revisions the idea of psychology itself to better reflect humankind’s interdependence with the rest of nature and to directly address issues of social and environmental justice.  This also includes an expertise in using nature-based interventions.

Ivy’s approach to counseling is mindfulness-based, meaning that she will help you deepen your awareness of the specific ways you experience yourself, others, and the world around you.  In return helping you feel more empowered to make the positive changes you desire in your life. Ivy has completed several professional trainings from M.E.T.A (mindful experiential therapy approaches) in Hakomi Body Centered Psychotherapy.  She also has training and experience in somatic approaches to understanding and working through trauma, including trauma sensitive yoga.  Ivy currently leads internationally recognized trauma informed yoga teacher trainings for the non-profit Street Yoga.   She also has a bachelor’s degree in Human Development as well as Dance from Prescott College.

Her experience includes adults, adolescents, couples and families. Areas that she has worked most with include: developmental trauma, anxiety, depression, trauma, addictions, self-esteem, grief and loss, body image, and family of origin issues.
