Kate Smith is a licensed Naturopathic physician, certified Holistic Pelvic Care ™ practitioner, and and certified Yoga instructor. She believes in the innate healing ability of the human body and spirit, when given the attention and care that is needed. An essential approach to Dr. Kate's practice is teaching her patients and students to truly listen to the messages within their physical, mental and emotional symptoms, and to remember the inherent wisdom, vitality and self care we each possess. Drawing from the traditions of Naturopathic medicine and Yoga, Dr. Kate provides her patients with education, inspiration and holistic therapies to awaken to new levels of self awareness and well being.
Dr. Kate treats people of all ages with a wide range of health conditions. She specializes in integrative medicine for women's health and hormone imbalances, gastrointestinal conditions, chronic fatigue, sleep disorders, depression and anxiety. Dr. Kate also has a strong focus in homeopathic medicine, which helps patients identify and address the connections between their physical and mental/emotional symptoms.
Dr. Kate is a certified Holistic Pelvic Care ™ practitioner. Through this medicine, she treats a wide range of women’s health conditions, and helps restore physical and energetic balance to the pelvic space of the female body.
Dr. Kate believes yoga is the perfect compliment to Naturopathic medicine and a therapeutic way to find balance between body, mind and spirit. She helps her patients and students create mindfulness and self awareness through asana practice, breathwork and meditation, so physical, mental and emotional health can flourish. She currently teaches vinyasa and alignment classes at Yoga Union.
Dr. Kate graduated with a doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine with honors from the National College of Natural Medicine (NCNM) in Portland, Oregon. In addition to her studies at NCNM, Dr. Kate completed an extensive homeopathic apprenticeship program integrating new analysis and treatment techniques developed by Dr. Rajan Sankaran. Dr. Kate spent two years as the Director of Education and Marketing for the Homeopathic Symposium, an online medical distance learning program that documents and teaches homeopathic treatment of serious illnesses. She completed her Yoga teacher training and certification through Yoga Union in 2008, and she completed her training in Holistic Pelvic Care ™ with Tami Kent, P.T. in 2013. Dr. Kate considers herself a life-long student and continues to learn from her teachers that inspire her to deepen her practice of and Yoga and Natural Medicine.

Naturopathic Initial Visit:
Your initial visit includes a detailed consultation, review of your case, and comprehensive wellness plan. Your wellness plan may include a number of the following: laboratory testing and interpretation, dietary and lifestyle protocols, vitamins, herbs, homeopathy, natural hormone therapy, detoxification, counseling, yoga therapeutics and breathwork. Cost of natural medicines or labs are not included.
Please bring a copy of your most recent laboratory results to your first visit. Dr. Kate may recommend additiional functional laboratory testing to be performed, such as:
hormone or neurotransmitter assessment
digestive and stool analysis
food intolerance testing
additional medical laboratory testing
Naturopathic Follow-up Appointments:
Follow-up visits are typically between 3-6 weeks after your initial appointment with Dr. Kate. At this time, any new lab results will be reviewed, your progress is checked and your treatment plan is fine tuned. Subsequent follow-up visits will be recommended based on each patient's individual needs.
Initial Homeopathic Appointment:
Your initial Homeopathic appointment with Dr. Kate is an extensive visit between 90-120 minutes which incorporates a detailed personal health history. Many questions asked during the intake are open-ended, in order to encourage you to describe your experience of your symptoms in clarity, depth and detail. One of the goals of this initial appointment is to understand the connections between your physical, mental and emotional symptoms. This process is in itself therapeutic, and patients usually leave their first appointment with a greater sense of self understanding and awareness. After your initial visit, Dr. Kate will carefullly tailor an individualized homeopathic treatment plan to address your unique health needs.
Homeopathic Follow-Up Visits:
Follow-up visits are typically between 4-6 weeks after your initial appointment with Dr. Kate. At this time your progress is checked and your treatment plan is fine tuned. Subsequent follow-up visits will be recommended based on each patient's individual needs.
