Marijean Rue, LMT
#26593
she/her
Marijean came to massage therapy after earlier studies in academics, psychology, and theology, following a strong pull toward healing work that felt more direct and embodied. She became licensed in 2010, began studying Thai Massage soon after, and completed the Living Sabai Advanced Certification Program in 2018. Since 2019, she has continued her training in Northern Thailand with Thai teachers and recently relocated to Portland from Nashville with her family.
Her approach is grounded in the belief that bodywork should feel supportive, never forceful, and that safety and comfort are essential for every client. Drawing from Northern Thai Massage and other complementary techniques, she offers intuitive, trauma-aware sessions tailored to both immediate concerns and longer-term wellness goals. She especially enjoys helping clients reduce pain, improve mobility, and reconnect with a greater sense of ease in their bodies.
Outside the treatment room, Marijean enjoys time with her family, friends, and many animals, and is drawn to fiber arts, reading, writing, and learning. She also loves teaching and brings that same spirit of curiosity and care into many different kinds of learning spaces.
